Message from CBAP president, Maricel Ibita:
The CATHOLIC BIBLICAL ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (CBAP) cordially issues this CALL FOR PAPERS to its members on the theme, "Speak, Lord! (1 Sam 3:9): 25 years of Listening and Responding to God's Word for a World in Crisis."
The major paper will be delivered by Fr. Peter Dubovsky, SJ, Rector of the Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome.
We welcome proposals of 250-300 words that
use historical, literary, and contextual approaches on biblical interpretation
address topics of individual or communal calling/vocation
deal with moments of crises in the Bible such as war and subjugation to imperial powers, ecological disasters, disability, injustice and exploitation or family crisis
relevantly connect with the challenges of contemporary Philippine and global society
Note:
Six (6) accepted presentations will qualify for ADMU’S Lakbay-Aral Biblia–Kwan-Laurel Opportunity for Humanities (ALAB -KOH) subsidy of Php 4,000.00 for airfare
Presentations will be 20 minutes (2500 words) and 10 mins for Q&A
After a peer review process, the qualified presentation papers will be published in 2025 as a special coverage of CBAP’s Silver Anniversary in Landas, the journal of the Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University
