The officers of the Board of Trustees of the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines (CBAP) gathered for their year-end meeting at Café Inggo 1587, a quaint restaurant nestled within the compound of Sto. Domingo Church, Quezon City. The meeting focused on updates for 2024 activities and preliminary plans for 2025. Presiding over the meeting was CBAP President, Fr. Clarence Marquea, OP, who also serves as the current rector of the UST Seminary. Joining him were:
Fr. Vic Nicdao, Vice President for Administration of the University of the Assumption and Rector of the Mother of Good Counsel Seminary (Pampanga), as Vice President.
Fr. Rex Cortes, CM, Professor at Saint Vincent School of Theology, as Corporate Secretary.
Fr. Rogel Abais, SJ, Dean of Studies at Loyola School of Theology, as Treasurer.
Fr. Randy Flores, SVD, Executive Director of CBAP and a faculty member at Divine Word School of Theology.
Among the agenda items discussed was the preparation for the next CBAP Annual Convention, tentatively scheduled for July 18–20, 2025, at the Jesuit Retreat House in Mirador, Baguio City.
The convention’s theme will align with the Jubilee Year focus on hope.
To enrich the event, CBAP invites its members to suggest an international keynote speaker, preferably a distinguished expert in the New Testament.
The officers encourage members to actively participate in these initiatives as CBAP continues its mission to deepen the understanding and appreciation of Sacred Scripture in the Philippine
